The Christmas concert at the MCB will be conducted by maestro Fernando Cardoso and will feature the special participation of singer Rita Valente
The Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution managed by the Fundação Padre Anchieta, promotes a Christmas concert with the Murilo Alvarenga Orchestra, on December 9th, Friday, from 7:30 pm, on the terrace of Solar Fábio Prado, where the Museum.
The orchestra bears the name of the notorious maestro Murilo Alvarenga – founder and conductor of the group. After the maestro’s death, in February 2022, the group reorganized to honor him, continuing his legacy in classical music.
On 12/09, the orchestra will present a repertoire in honor of Christmas, with compositions such as A Christmas Festival (Leroy Anderson) and It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas (Meredith Wilson) as the main theme. Fernando Cardoso will be conducting.
Other songs, such as Christmas Song (Robert Wells & Mel Torme) and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Haven Gillespie & J. Fred Coots Arr.: Dave Wolpe ad: Murilo Alvarenga), are also part of the presentation’s repertoire. The concert will feature the special participation of singer Rita Valente.
