The musician’s presentation takes place on October 16, Sunday, at 11 am

The show ‘Forró de Piano’ by André Marques takes place at the Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution managed by Fundação Padre Anchieta, on Sunday, October 16, from 11 am. The performance will feature a repertoire full of classics, such as “Eu só Quero um Xodó” by Dominguinhos and Anastácia and “O canto da ema” by Ayres Viana, Alventino Cavalcanti and João do Vale. The concert is a partnership between MCB and Borandá Produções and the Cultural Action Program (ProAC) of the Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo.

In his 25-year career, André Marques has always been dedicated to researching Brazilian rhythms. Being alongside Hermeto Pascoal (with whom he has played since 1994), or in front of his groups Trio Curupira and Vintena Brasileira.

André also does research work that, together with the musicians of his sextet, resulted in the method “Rhythmic and melodic language of Brazilian rhythms”. Encouraged by all this work, André Marques created the CD and show “Forró de piano”, adapting the language of one of his favorite rhythms for solo piano, with more contemporary reinterpretations, but without losing the essence of the language of Forró. In addition, with this show, André Marques returns to perform alone at the piano, which he has not done since 2009, when he released his first solo piano CD, called “SOLO”.
