On its return to face-to-face activities, the ECA/USP Chamber Orchestra (OCAM) presents “Singing”, a production that celebrates the nuances and connections of music.

With special participation by singer Mônica Salmaso, “Cantares” brings a repertoire built like a patchwork quilt, in which melodies, harmonies and the music itself act as a sewing thread that connects the pieces, bringing nuances, colors and connections that provoke dialogues between them.

The audiovisual begins with the poem Corpo Inconsútil, by Jussara Salazar. Then, it presents three pieces by the Rio de Janeiro composer Ronaldo Miranda: Cantares – work that gives the concert its title and which has the special participation of singer Mônica Salmaso – Ponteio e Dança, for strings, and Serious Variations on a Theme by Anacleto de Medeiros , for wind quintet. Then, Matiz III ‘Ciclos’, by composer Rodrigo Lima, a piece written for a percussion kit and a soloist and performed by percussionist George Ferreira. The concert ends by the string orchestra with the famous Suite Holberg, by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.

Conducted by conductor Gil Jardim, artistic director and principal conductor of OCAM, and André Bachur, assistant conductor of OCAM, the video was recorded at Estúdio 185, with André Magalhães in audio and Beto Mendonça in recording and editing the video.
