CONCERTO 'MÃE AMAZÔNIA' COM SILVAN GALVÃO
With original repertoire and partners, the show takes place on February 26, Sunday, from 11 am
On the 26th of February, Sunday, at 11 am, the multi-artist Silvan Galvão will present at the Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution managed by the Fundação Padre Anchieta, the concert ‘Mãe Amazônia’. With a CD repertoire released in 2022, the artist brings sensitive subjects about deforestation to the show. One of the songs that will be presented is Kwá Yanerendawa, considered a manifesto on the subject.
Silvan presents on stage a work that explores, in addition to Carimbó, a panorama of rhythms of popular culture in the Amazon, both in contemporary formations (drums, guitar and bass) and the traditional “stick and rope” (banjo, percussion and wind). In addition to performing shows, Silvan gives workshops on percussion and Carimbó dance, and other rhythms from the Amazon.

About Silvan Galvao
Author of songs in partnership with great composers from the Amazon, such as Nilson Chaves, Joãozinho Gomes, Ronaldo Silva and Junior Soares. He often performed in duets not only with his composition partners, but also with artists such as Shanghai, Patricia Bastos, Pinduca, Mestre Solano and the great guitarist Sebastião Tapajós. In 2017, he launched the project “Três Amazônias”, where he shares the stage with Patricia Bastos, the greatest music reference in the state of Amapá, and Davi Assayag, icon of the Parintins Festival in the state of Amazonas. In 2018, Silvan Galvão was awarded at the Public Notice “Prêmio Culturas Populares / Ministério da Cultura”, in the Master of Popular Culture category, for his work with Carimbó in the southeast region, in recognition of his work as a transmitter of knowledge of oral tradition. In 2019, Silvan was selected by the Ibermúsicas Program to circulate his Carimbó workshop to universities, museums and cultural centers in Argentina and Chile.
