Mercado das Madalenas
The Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution of the São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture, will receive for the first time, for a special edition of Mother’s Day, the Madalenas Market, a fair of copyright and exclusive products made by producers of the Brazilian creative economy, on April 21 and 22, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.
The event will feature more than 100 exhibitors from different segments, such as fashion, jewelry, accessories, art, design, illustration and children’s items. In addition to varied options of gastronomy and entertainment in a pleasant environment for people of all ages.
The participants of Madalena Market, selected with the careful curation of the organizers Monica Isnard and Inara Prudente Corrêa, expose as a matter of priority the independent production, with the intention of making it known and accessible to the general public. Although held in the context of Mother’s Day, the fair also covers the interests of both men and children. The central idea is to provide direct contact with the final consumer, providing an opportunity for anyone who cherishes novelties and exclusive products and, at the same time, encouraging the freedom of creation.
“We always worry about keeping the mood and the atmosphere relaxed, trying to follow the union of the useful to the pleasant, which is already a trademark of the Madalenas Market. Creating a warm atmosphere ends up generating new friendships and, above all, a good network of relationships, resulting in a spontaneous connection between exhibitors and consumers, “says Inara. “No wonder, this is a characteristic that makes all the difference for both the participant and the visitor,” Monica adds. The organizers celebrate: “Now that our Market has gone inside the Museum of the Brazilian House, the environment becomes even more perfect for the union creativity, entertainment and gastronomy that make the diversity we always wanted to bring to the event,” concludes the organizers.
“The Museu da Casa Brasileira has been carrying out a series of fairs with different characteristics, in order to provide direct contact between the small producer or artisan and the final consumer, in an attempt to guarantee the sustainability of this productive chain; in this sense, the realization of this first edition of Madalenas Market seeks diversification, in order to expand the reach of this action, “adds Miriam Lerner, director general of the museum.

About the Madalenas Market
The Madalenas Market came about in 2012 from the partners and friends Monica Isnard and Inara Prudente Corrêa, with the proposal to get out of the concept of shopping malls and big businesses, so it has high selection criteria for its exhibitors. The objective is to generate opportunity for those who produce work in an authorial way, so that entrepreneurs can publicize their services. “We have always admired and personally we have had contact with trendsetters, artists, stylists, gastronomes and many other professionals responsible for works of authorship, which differ from what is mass marketed,” says Monica. She further comments that when the Madalena Market was devised, the main goal was to bring friends together in an environment that was both enjoyable and full of possibilities. “It was from this personal circle that we had the idea of structuring an event that would gather brands with that identity in a warm and receptive space where people would feel like they were on the sofa at home,” he says. Now, the event is heading for its 19th edition and its creators celebrate success. “We have the differential of allowing customers to know better who does what is exposed and also the process of creating the products. It was like this, like someone who does not want anything and wants everything at the same time, that the Madalenas Market was born “, ends Inara.
