The Museum of the Brazilian House, an institution of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo, will hold, in partnership with FAUUSP, on July 2, Thursday, at 6 pm, a virtual conversation wheel on the Brazilian stage of worldwide campaign Design for Emergency, entitled International Challenge Sowing Ideas. The chat will be broadcast live on MCB’s Youtube.

At the event, researchers Denise Dantas and Sara Goldchmit, from the FAUUSP Design in Action research group, will present the international project Design for Emergency – an initiative launched in the context of the pandemic to understand the needs, habits and emotions of people living in social isolation .

They will also comment on the stages of collection, analysis and results of the Brazilian version of the research. The data presented inform and mobilize designers to participate in the International Challenge Semeando Ideias, a contest launched recently in partnership between FAUUSP and MCB, which is open until July 15, 2020. Mediation will be by Giancarlo Latorraca, technical director of the MCB. The conversation is aimed at students and professionals in the area of Design from all regions of Brazil.

“In the current situation of the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the MCB has been dedicated to the expansion of its virtual memory and the production of digital content. With the cancellation of the 34th edition of the Design MCB Award, discussions on the role of design in facing contemporary issues are reinforced in actions such as this one with FAUUSP to carry out the national edition of Design for Emergency ”, says Giancarlo Latorraca, director MCB technician.
