The temporary exhibitions currently open to visitors at the Museu da Casa Brasileira – an institution of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo – say goodbye to the public shortly.
“Bernardo Figueiredo: Brazilian designer and architect” and “Jean Gillon: artist-designer” present the careers of two important figures in the composition of the historical mosaic of Brazilian modernism in the design and architecture segments.
BERNARDO FIGUEIREDO: BRAZILIAN DESIGNER AND ARCHITECT
Carried out in partnership with the factory from Rio Grande do Sul Schuster Móveis – a producer of Bernardo’s furniture since 2011 – it is curated by Maria Cecília Loschiavo dos Santos, Amanda Beatriz Palma de Carvalho and Karen Matsuda, also authors of the book that portrays the career of the designer and architect.
JEAN GILLON: ARTIST-DESIGNER
Executed in conjunction with the Passado Compound Século XX gallery, it is curated by the gallery owner and collector Graça Bueno and the MCB’s technical team.
The show features works – dated between 1940 and 2005 – on all fronts of work by Jean Gillon, artist and designer born in Romania, naturalized Brazilian when he settled in Brazil, he also worked with sculpture, engraving, tapestry, painting, scenography and decoration.
