The activity takes place in partnership with the Visto África project on Friday, November 18, starting at 7:00 pm
In dialogue with the exhibition ‘Independências: Casas e Costumes do Brasil’ and as part of the program associated with the Black Consciousness Day, the educational action “Das Áfricas às Diásporas”
will take place in the yard of the MCB on the 18th of November, Friday, starting at 19:00.
The Visto África project, conceived by the Guinean artist and activist, Vensam Ialá and the Angolan cultural producer, Ermildo Panzo, aims to tell the story of Africa from the reality of Africans themselves; a counterpoint to the cultural reading proposed by the show, whose approach takes place from the colonization process.
The meeting at the Museum, which will be led by Vensam and Ermi, will celebrate ancestry, storytelling circles, performances and sharing memories, in addition to occupying a public space that makes it possible to deconstruct the entire narrative based on stereotypes that inferiorize and neglect the real history of African peoples and their descendants in the most diverse diasporas.
The activity will be broadcast live on the YouTube do MCB.
