The workshop ‘What object is this? April 10, 2021 was an investigation into the comb
The comb is the object that we will focus on drawing in the next workshop “What object is this?”.
⠀
There are as many combs as there are hair and as many hairstyles as there are cultures. In history, it has already been evoked as a symbol of affirmation and struggle and, in popular parlance, it can evoke order, alignment and organization.
⠀
In different peoples, the arrangement of hair is a marker of distinction, being able to tell about age and identities, but it can also convey information through codes created in the form of hairstyle, as is characteristic of the history of braids among many peoples.
⠀
To encompass all these reasons is that there are fine combs, coarse combs, forks, brushes, alligator combs, long tooth combs, pocket combs and hand brushes. What are your combs?

About the MCB Educational
The Educational MCB proposes practices that articulate the look, doing and thinking so that visitors can assume the role of researchers, researching the contents that the museum offers in a contemporary perspective. The idea is to create challenges for participants in educational activities to raise questions from their own experiences and discover new meanings by relating the visit to the MCB with their lives.
