Pianist, arranger and composer from Rio de Janeiro, André Mehmari is considered by critics as a “singular” artist with a “vibrant and generous” imagination. Throughout his career, he has been singled out as one of the most original and in-demand composers of his generation, garnering awards in both the classical and popular scenes.
Born in the city of Niterói (RJ) in 1977, he had his first contacts with music through his mother already in Ribeirão Preto (SP) and moved to the capital of São Paulo in 1995 with entrance to the piano course at ECA-USP .
The artist’s compositions and arrangements have been performed by many orchestral and chamber groups around the world; among them: OSESP, OSB, Minas Gerais Philharmonic, Miami Symphony, Normandie Orchestra, São Paulo City Quartet and Villa-Lobos Quintet. Recent works include works for cellist Antônio Meneses and the soundtrack of the first Brazilian series produced for the Netflix platform, 3%.
In addition to a vast and award-winning discography, Mehmari has an active international career as a soloist and has created expressive duos with musicians such as Antonio Meneses, Mário Laginha, Gabriele Mirabassi, Antonio Loureiro, Danilo Brito, Maria João, Hamilton de Holanda, Marilia Vargas, Ná Ozzetti , Maria Bethânia and Mônica Salmaso.
He has performed in countries such as Italy, USA, Japan, China, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, French Guiana, Norway, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Austria, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain , Denmark and Angola, in addition to having participated in all the main Brazilian festivals and in spaces such as Salle Gaveau (Paris), Kennedy Center (Washington), Lincoln Center (New York), Umbria Jazz, Sala São Paulo and Sala Cecilia Meirelles, among many others.

The Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo, is dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of the material culture of the Brazilian house, being the only museum in the country specialized in architecture and design. The MCB’s program includes temporary and long-term exhibitions, with an agenda that also includes educational service activities, debates, lectures and publications contextualizing the museum’s vocation for the formation of critical thinking on themes such as architecture, urbanism, housing, economy creative, urban mobility and sustainability.
