The Orquestra Sinfônica Infanto-Juvenil do Guri performs at the #MúsicanoMCB project on Sunday, November 27th, at 11 am, with the program ‘Cracker Nuts’. The concert will feature compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and François Borne. Anderson Tavares will conduct.

Sobre a Orquestra Sinfônica Infanto-Juvenil do Guri
The symphony orchestra is the most complex instrumental formation in Western music. In its ranks, it combines suits from different families – strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass), woodwinds (flute, clarinet, bassoon and oboe), brass (horn, trumpet, tuba and trombone) and percussion. Its form, however, is flexible, and can change according to the repertoire. It is common for orchestras to change their formation throughout a concert, meeting the requirements of each piece, being able to add or suppress instruments or even entire sections. At the Guri Children’s and Youth Symphony Orchestra, students aged between 11 and 18 have access to a vast and complex universe of ways of making music. Its artistic-pedagogical development encompasses a wide musical spectrum, ranging from the renowned European and American symphonic repertoire, to incursions into operatic, popular and contemporary pieces. And the deepening of this experience also counts on professors, conductors and guest instrumentalists, carefully selected to provide students with a rich and profitable interaction that gives them tools to tread their own musical path, both on stage – solo or together – and in the classroom. classroom.
