MÚSICA NO MCB | BANDA MUNICIPAL DE EMBU DAS ARTES
The concert conducted by conductor Hamilton Oliveira takes place on Friday, November 4th, at 7:30 pm, with free admission.
The Municipal Band of Embu das Artes performs at the Solar Fábio Prado, where does the Museu da Casa Brasileira – institution managed by Fundação Padre Anchieta –, on the 4th of November, Friday, at 19:30. The concert ‘Sopros Musicais’ will be conducted by conductor Hamilton Oliveira.
The concert will have as its starting point the Golden Repertoire of Music Bands in Brazil, represented by the double Jubileu (Anacleto de Medeiros). In addition, the band will lead the audience through works written especially for Banda Sinfônica: Ride and On to the Next Frontier.
The show will also feature works of world-renowned international music, as well as compositions by Adoniran Barbosa, Hermeto Pascoal, among other authors. Check out the concert repertoire below.

About the band
The Municipal Band of Embu das Artes had its beginnings in the 18th century, however, the first records only appear from 1907 onwards. In 1974, the group had 20 musicians and renowned conductors such as Saturnino Canudo, Rossini, Antenor Carlos Vaz, Luiz Abdo and Elias Evangelista. Today, the band is formed by 40 musicians under the regency of maestro Hamilton Oliveira, being a musical corporation that seeks high technical level. With an eclectic repertoire – from Adoniran Barbosa, Tom Jobim and Abba, through transcriptions of opera overtures and other erudite pieces.
