WORKSHOP | Experimentando design
During the exhibition period in Brazilian aviation, the Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution of the São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture, will foster learning about design issues involving engineering and creativity in the aviation industry. With free registration, the workshops invite children, parents and teachers to invent, reflect and experiment with technological solutions for the future.
The “Experimenting design” workshops are an accomplishment of MCB Educational in partnership with Boeing, one of the exhibit’s supporters, and will take place inside the Museum. Based on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) multidisciplinary methodology, children will learn to create fun and teachable toys such as paper airplane models that can fly for several meters, a helicopter that can fly carrying a poem And a rocket to conduct launch tests.
“The idea of the workshops is, through experimentation, to promote understanding of the processes involved in the possibilities of solutions for aviation issues brought about by design,” explains Miriam Lerner, general director of MCB.
The design exhibition in Brazilian aviation shows the universe of creation of the national design for artifacts designed to fly, realized in partnership with the Embraer Institute, with institutional partner of the Brazilian Air Force and sponsored by Goodyear, Saab, United Technologies and Boeing.

About MCB Education proposes practices that articulate the look, the doing and the thinking so that the visitors take on the role of researchers, researching the contents that the museum offers in a contemporary perspective. The idea is to create challenges for participants in educational activities to raise questions from their own experiences and discover new directions in relating the visit to MCB with their lives. Visits in groups – In general, educational and social institutions can be scheduled in advance. The duration is approximately one and a half hours. Groups with more than 25 people are divided into two groups. Spontaneous visits can be done individually or in a group.
