EDUCATIONAL MCB | ONLINE WORKSHOP WHAT OBJECT IS THAT? – NEEDLE
The needle is the object that we will address in our next workshop.
Knitting and embroidering are actions that have been linked to orality for thousands of years. In many traditions, the moment of sewing is the moment of sharing stories, transmitting knowledge from generation to generation, welcoming and regulating moods within a certain group, but – equally – it is the practice that materializes in images memory of so many groups, as we can see in the history of oriental tapestry and in the weaving of so many Latin American peoples.
In many ways, sewing is confused with narrating the landscape, describing fauna and flora, pointing out and fixing the achievements of each people in the collective memory.
Today, the handling of needles has gained more and more adept people; not just because of the beauty of the art of embroidery, but – also – because of the specific temporal experience that the practice offers.
And you, have you done any work with needles? Come to our workshop and share your memories. We will have time to make points, draw and speak.
The virtual workshop “What is this object” will take place on April 24, via Zoom. Make your registration! Children and adults are welcome.
