COURSE | 'VOICES OF GRAPHIC DESIGNER' WITH GUSTAVO PIQUEIRA
The course taught by Gustavo Piqueira – one of the judges of the Poster Contest 2019 – entitled ‘Voices of the graphic designer’ proposes, through the exhibition and discussion of the creative process behind dozens of projects of the most different types and sizes that he executed over the course of his career, raise questions around the possibilities of the graphic designer as a content builder agent, not just messaging.
This will be an opportunity to understand graphic design as something more than a simple strategic tool used to seduce and trigger consumer desires, highlighting the practice as a powerful constituent element of our visual culture, as well as activity that can be articulated to other languages in construction of more complex narratives.
About Gustavo Piqueira
Ahead of Casa Rex, Gustavo Piqueira is one of the most awarded graphic designers in Brazil, with almost 500 international design awards; is also the designer with the largest number of projects selected in the most important national design award, the ADG Graphic Design Biennial. Her House Rex was elected the Brazilian Design Office of the Year for 5 consecutive years (2013-2017) by ABEDESIGN – Brazilian Association of Design Companies. As author, he published 24 books of difficult classification, all marked by the free mixture between text, image, design and History.
