Accompanying the issues present in the exhibition ‘Independencias: Casas e Costumes no Brasil‘ and seeking to create counterpoints to the narratives present in the exhibition, the Educativo MCB team offers on November 26th, Saturday, from 10 am to 12 pm, an online meeting dedicated to the introduction to critical studies of whiteness, with the artist and doctor in studies translation, Tatiana Nascimento.
Nascimento dialogues about white privilege, identifying it as part of structural racism. He addresses the invisibility of whiteness and racism itself as strategies for maintaining this structure, explaining mechanisms for promoting and perpetuating this invisibility, problematizing white guilt.
The meeting will also address aspects of the construction of black subjectivity, challenges of interracial contexts of work, activism and affection.
