Edition: 34th Design Award (2021)

Design/Author: Nara Evangeline Guichon Ferrari
Text from the Jury: The work Águas Limpas intends to create solutions for the reuse of materials commonly discarded as garbage. In this case, the designer uses industrial fishing nets, creating textile structures that add value and generate a second useful life for the tailings.
The nets are softened and toned through the weather and/or the use of natural dyes such as yerba mate dye, onion skin and turmeric, generating a product that bears both the marks of her trajectory and the designer’s research to naturally pigment fibers of polyamide.
It is an expanding project that we had the opportunity to follow in other editions of the award.
