Formed in 2013, the group goes beyond sound and is characterized by regional costumes during the shows, between hats and vests that refer to caboclos, cowboys and cangaceiros. In 2016, the group released their first album, “Sertão Cigano”, with their own songs and re-readings.
Composed of musicians researchers of traditional cultures, the Xaxado Novo has influences of the history of diverse peoples, like the gypsies and Arabs, groups fomentadores of the northeastern music. In addition, there is the valorization of traditions by using instruments such as the fiddle, which spread throughout the Northeast in the eighteenth century, as well as souzafone, deaf samba and davul.
