The Museum of the Brazilian House, an institution of the State Culture Secretariat, managed by Civil Society through the House of Arts and Artifacts of Brazil, inaugurates on August 29th, at 10am, the panel ‘Nossa Casa’, with curated by Brazilian architect Camila Fix and Dutch architectural and design specialist Jorn Konijn. The visitation period goes until 2 December.
With the purpose of raising questions about the identity of the design made by Brazilian professionals, the panel presents 12 proposals of objects thought as symbolic representative of the “our house”, the Brazilian house; or what these chosen designers conceived as an idea of objects for the contemporary Brazilian house. The participants come from different regions of the country, with the aim of presenting the plurality of Brazilian cultures, accents and landscapes, bringing together works by Ronald Sasson, Inês Schertel, Guto Requena, Carol Gay, Gustavo Martini, Andrea Bandoni, Studio MK27, Plataforma4, Mule Preta, Alva Design and Adolini + Simonini. The set design is inspired by the Studio MK27’s “Memories Cut Out” project.

The Museu da Casa Brasileira, an institution of the São Paulo State Department of Culture, is dedicated to the preservation and diffusion of the material culture of the Brazilian house, being the only museum in the country that specializes in architecture and design. The MCB program includes temporary and long-term exhibitions, with an agenda that also includes activities of the educational service, debates, lectures and publications contextualizing the museum’s vocation for the formation of a critical thinking in themes such as architecture, urbanism, housing, economy urban mobility and sustainability.
