Activities that instigate the look, the doing and the thinking are proposed by the MCB Educator. With a weekly schedule that does not require prior registration, the participants assume the role of researchers, resulting in an experience that relates the visit to MCB with their lives.

A Casa Estampada

The artist Monica Schoenacker offers to the audience passing by the basic notions of serigraphy with stamped parts of the collection of the museum in dish cloths. The participant can take their work home.

Words and Houses
03 and 17 October, Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.
From affective reports related to living, MCB’s artist-educators team elaborates poetic transcriptions with typewriters. The texts can be taken by the participants.

A Casa Bordada
October 10, Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.
From images of parts of the MCB collection and souvenirs of household objects of everyday use, the educating artist Beth Ziani provides the public with basic notions of embroidery and fabric application. The participant can contribute to the creation of a large collective embroidery or to start an individual work.

Design your home
October 5, Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A drawing of the participant’s house is done from an affective description or from a photograph. The original can be taken home and the drawings will be scanned or photographed and archived in the museum.

Cantando no Chuveiro
October 5, Friday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Investigation of memories and memories of participants related to their homes through repertoire and musical expression. The songs will be recorded and archived in the museum.

Manual de Instruções
19th and 26th October, Fridays, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Workshop of instant performance actions by Suiá Burger Ferlauto. The activity proposes to map and compile the uses of house objects and their interaction with the body.

Chairs icons of modern and contemporary design will be available to the public at the bus stop in front of the Museum of Casa Brasileira.

About MCB
MCB Education proposes practices that articulate the look, the doing and the thinking so that the visitors take on the role of researchers, researching the contents that the museum offers in a contemporary perspective. The idea is to create challenges for participants in educational activities to raise questions from their own experiences and discover new meanings in relating the visit to MCB with their lives. Visits in groups – In general, educational and social institutions can be scheduled in advance. The duration is approximately one and a half hours. Groups with more than 25 people are divided into two groups. Spontaneous visits can be done individually or in groups.
